PULP SCREEN

Pulp Screen Camera Club is an innovative community at Abdullah Gül University that brings together students around cinema, media, and camera technologies. The club focuses on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the cinema world, aiming to provide students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical experiences. It also seeks to offer students the opportunity to process practical knowledge in the current field with a professional perspective.

By examining the historical development of camera technology, its contributions to the media industry, and its cultural impacts, the club aims to create a conscious audience. It strives to guide those interested in being behind the camera—whether by operating the camera, directing the scene, writing scripts, or receiving training in this process.

By highlighting the unseen labor behind the camera, the club enables students to develop creative projects and, through these opportunities, aims to enhance Abdullah Gül University’s recognition in Turkey and worldwide. Through short film productions, documentary projects, director talks, film screenings, technical training, and workshops, it provides its members with experience both in front of and behind the camera.

Emphasizing the significance of camera technology in fields such as advertising, television, journalism, documentary filmmaking, and art, the club raises awareness of various industries. In addition to providing technical knowledge, Pulp Screen develops projects in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting cultural diversity and social equality. It fosters communication and collaboration among students from diverse cultural backgrounds and shares insights into the role of cameras in different societies.

Open to all students interested in cinema, passionate about creating innovative projects, and eager to explore camera technologies, Pulp Screen continues to bring together film enthusiasts as a dynamic and productive community.
